Danieli strengthens team

Emanuele Brusini (Executive Vice President of DCR) is pleased to announce that Daniel Damart, Managing Director at Danieli Henschel (France), and Jake Allen, Managing Director at Danieli Lynxs (UK) and Danieli Riverside Products (USA) are both appointed as Vice-Presidents for Danieli Centro Recycling.

Aluminium is the future for big screen technology

Aluminium is being hailed as the ideal material for manufacturing the largest outdoor high-resolution LED screen supporting structure, following a series of projects completed by systems manufacturer Boldman.

GCC reports record production

According to the Gulf Aluminium Council (GAC), the five aluminium primary producers (EGA (UAE), Alba (Bahrain), Ma’aden Aluminium (KSA), Qatalum (Qatar) and Sohar Aluminium (Oman) have collectively produced 5,274,729 tons of primary Aluminium in 2015.

This is 7% more than 2014.

Aluminium beverage can recycling at new record high

The overall recycling rate for aluminium beverage cans in the European Union, Switzerland, Norway and Iceland increased by 1.8% to a new record level of 71.3% in 2013. 

European Aluminium considers this result an important milestone on its path towards its voluntary recycling target for used beverage cans of 80% by 2020.

Heidi Brock begins term as Chair of the NAM’s Council of Manufacturing Associations

The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) has announced that Heidi Brock, president and CEO of the Aluminum Association, has been elected chair of the NAM’s Council of Manufacturing Associations (CMA) to serve a one-year term.

Alcoa to delay curtailment of Intalco smelter

Alcoa has announced it will delay the curtailment of its Intalco Works smelter in Ferndale, Washington until the end of the second quarter of 2016. 

The plant was initially scheduled to curtail by the end of the first quarter.

Brazil leads aluminium can recycling

The Brazilian Aluminium Association (ABAL) and the Brazilian Association of Highly Recyclable Cans Manufacturers (ABRALATAS) has reported that in 2014 the country recycled 289,500 tons of aluminium beverage cans out of the 294,200 tons available in the market, a growth of 12.5% over the previous year.
