Kobe Aluminium Automotive boosts production capacity

Based in Bowling Green, Kentucky, USA, KAAP began construction of a $66-million expansion of its manufacturing facility in spring 2013. Construction was completed earlier this month and the new facility has gone into mass production. KAAP’s production capacity of 280,000 pieces per month has increased to 420,000 pieces per month.
 
This expansion, together with Kobe Steel’s other manufacturing locations in Japan and China, gives the Kobe Steel Group a combined production capacity of 1 million pieces per month of aluminium forged suspension parts.

Vinacomin exports more than 400,000 tonnes of aluminium

The information was released at a Bauxite Complex Project’s meeting in the central highlands province of Lam Dong on August 15.



In the past seven months alone, the company shipped abroad a record high 251,000 tonnes of aluminium.

According to Vinacomin’s representatives, these aluminium products were exported to many markets such as Switzerland, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, China, and Hong Kong. The group is currently expanding into Malaysia and in the Middle Eastern countries.

Exports drive growth of aluminium foil production in first half of 2014

This is largely led by a strong showing from exports, which are 28% ahead of 2013. European deliveries remains flat with demand showing a very small decline of 0.2% compared with last year.

In the six months to June overall production was 434,100t, 2.5% above the 2013 figure (423,000t). Thinner gauges, used mainly for flexible packaging and household foils, held steady with growth of just 0.9%, but continuing the increases seen for the last five quarters.
